WAITING DIFFERENTLY

Life

Let it be known to everybody alive
I won a dollar in a game of gamble
And wasted it all on party and booze
Please judge me harshly i tell you
I have let myself go with no way back
I will not cry you a river, though dear Nellie
Am making plans  for my future
But like dominos they fall on each other

I hid your advice somewhere in my mind
I will collect not a day too soon
Am waiting on my star to give the go ahead
But then who am i kidding, its a fuss
A fallacy my people call providence
It hasnt walked my  path recently
And now i am counting the times it did
Naming them one by one but then,
Just like a far memory some keep escaping me

It is sense am making though you disagree
I can tell by the dumbfounded look on your face
I would say you will thank me later but no
I hear the sirens approaching at a distance
I went ahead and did it
Two huge pieces of lead in quick succession
Maybe i should have chosen the silver
Thats the quagmire summation of my life
Its flashing by in color!
