Waiting differently

Two souls, one compass: Welcome to our wandering hearts

By Jillian Makungu and Gloriah Kamwamu

We are not cut from the same cloth—my sister and I—but when it comes to curiosity and the thrill of the unknown, we’re in perfect sync. Whether it’s chasing flavors or chasing horizons, we’re always down to explore. Some mornings we just hop in the car, point to a spot on the map (or not), and let the road decide.

2025 has been a different kind of year—a year of waiting, listening, and moving with intention. We are waiting differently! But while we’ve been waiting on the Lord for big answers, we haven’t stayed still. We’ve been discovering the beauty He’s already laid out for us, right here, right now. From hidden trails to open skies, this blog is a little journal of wonder, whimsy, and worship—our way of saying ‘thank You’ for the world around us.

Before the Maps, There Was the Mess

Let’s be real—this adventure wasn’t born from sunshine and Pinterest dreams. It was shaped by love, yes, but also by heartbreak, hard lessons, and the kind of disappointment that makes you question everything. Life handed us both beauty and bruises—and somewhere in that mix, we found a deep craving to explore, to breathe again, and to see the goodness still out there.

Our story is stitched together with failed relationships, faded friendships, soul-saving grace, and those wild plot twists only God could write. But through it all, we kept moving—sometimes wandering, sometimes wondering, always trusting.

Our journey is more than just our sisterhood on the road—it’s a space to share real stories, honest reflections, and maybe even some laughs with friends we’ve met along the way. And trust us, there’s a seat for you too.
